After finishing the season with a 45-37 record, the Oklahoma City Thunder have fired head coach Scott Brooks.

Since Brooks took over in 2008, this is the first time the Thunder have missed the playoffs.

According to a statement released by the team, the decision was not made based on this season, but instead it was necessary to look towards the future.

Oklahoma City went 338-207 during Brooks seven seasons with the team, including an NBA Finals appearance in 2012.
