If you have ever dealt with a painful breakup, then you’ll feel our ‘Throwback Thursday’ video of the day, as we present to you Ne-Yo‘s hit-single “So Sick.” The single is from the multi-talented artist’s debut album In My Own Words, which was released in 2006. “So Sick” is arguably the biggest hit from Ne-Yo’s long list of worldwide classics, as it reached No.1 in the United States and the United Kingdom, as well as other music charts.
The song, of course, is about Ne-Yo letting his emotions be heard as he is looking to overcome a painful breakup, as he tells Billboard:
“It’s about the first time I fell in love with a girl in a way that I completely screwed up. So it was a story that I didn’t have to think really hard about putting it together.”
The video is directed by popular music video and film director Hype Williams, and there are five remixes to the song.
It’s hard to believe that the song was already released nine-years ago.
