Damian Lillard Releases First Full-Length Track, A Remix To “Commas”

If you’re familiar with Damian Lillard, all-star guard from the Portland Trail Blazers, then you know just how good of a rapper he is. Although he claims he just raps as a hobby for fun ever since he was a kid in Oakland, Calif., he started the Twitter and Instagram hashtag #4BarFriday! He would share four bars and repost some of his favorites from fans. It’s really caught on the past couple of years and has boosted his off the court popularity for sure.

Lillard now raps under the moniker Dame Dolla, which stands for “Different On Levels The Lord Allows.”

Today, Lillard released a track on soundcloud, that may be his best freestyle to date, a three minute freestyle to Future’s “Commas” called “Soldier In The Game.”

Lillard does a great job on the track of introducing himself through his verse, while rappping about adversity and overcoming it. He even shouts out his peers on the court Stephen Curry and Russell Westbrook. Hopefully this is the first of many tracks to come from Dame Dolla, we can only hope and wait for a possible album.

Dame no doubt has a gift and hopefully won’t receive any criticism for sharing his talent with the world and passing the time doing something he loves other than basketball, especially in a world where a lot of pro athletes can get into a lot of trouble in the offseason.
