R&B’s best, Miguel, has been on a musical high, and with this comes industry positioning. What exactly does this mean? With great music comes great pride. The Sunday Times recently interviewed the “Coffee” singer. When asked about fellow industry artist Frank Ocean, Miguel did not exactly say the most pleasant things:
[quote_box_center]”I wouldn’t say we were friends. To be completely honest — and no disrespect to anyone — I genuinely believe that I make better music, all the way around.”[/quote_box_center]
It has been said that this “issue,” dates back to 2013 when Ocean beat out Miguel for a Grammy..
But the real question is, does Miguel really make better music?
The answer: It depends on the listener. Both are GREAT artist, they have sounds that are like no other and arguably lead the industry creatively.
Personally, I believe each has an advantage. For those of us that love instrumentation, Miguel wins this all day everyday.
With Ocean’s amazing writing ability, those that care only about lyrics would maybe side with him.
Miguel’s WILDHEART album failed to disappoint, as to everything he releases.
Miguel later tweeted the following to clarify his statements:

We continue to wait for Frank’s new album that is set to release later this year. If he is not done with the project, hopefully this new-found motivation will set the stage for a great album.
