The Chicago native is exploring new sounds and taking us with him

Bryan Lamb

Fans have been hungry for another Mick Jenkins record since his 2016 album, The Healing Component.

or more; the frustration, the follow-up to 2017’s or more; the anxious EP, includes eight tracks from the 26-year old artist. Jenkins describes his “or more” collection as “a project series involving musical ideas and concepts that are currently inspiring the album’s creation process.”

The Chicago rapper is experimenting with “smaller waves” in his “pool of thoughts” and taking his listeners on a ride along. His new project is much darker and more aggressive than the last. He touches on everything that frustrates him, from parties he doesn’t want to be at to spending too much on clothes to feel better. In his own words, Jenkins uses hard-hitting beats and even harder lyricism to “highlight these frustrations as an exhibit.”
