After becoming a viral sensation for his sprightly freestyles in 2015, Trill Sammy is laying the foundation for a promising career. The Houston rapper has silently signed a deal with Benny Blanco’s Mad Love Records; a imprint of Interscope Geffen A&M.
Sammy is in good hands as he will be mentored by one of the most sought after producer, songwriter and musician. Blanco has assisted in constructing a number of hits, which includes Ed Sheeran’s “Castle on the Hill,” Justin Bieber‘s “Love Yourself,” Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger,” Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream,” Rihanna‘s “Diamonds,” Kesha’s “Tik Tok” and Gym Class Heroes’ “Stereo Hearts.” He has also received five BMI Songwriter of the Year awards and is the recipient of the Hal David Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Among the Mad Love roster, he’s now in company with Tory Lanez, Cashmere Cat and Keito Sano.
Before relocating to Los Angeles, the Texas native’s stardom was so apparent that he was called upon to lay down guest verses for almost every buzzing artist in the state. This list includes Houston elites in Slim Thug and Riff Raff to upstarts like Ugly God, Maxo Kream, Dice Soho, BLAKE and Diego Money.
In preparation of his forthcoming No Sleep EP, Sammy shares the first single from the project with “Do Not Disturb.” The record will be executive produced by Blanco and Jake One, and will feature appearances from Offset, Slim Jxmmi, Moneybagg Yo and J.I.D.
No Sleep is expected to release in spring 2018.
