Jacquees’ latest aptly titled EP This Time I’m Serious comes nearly a month after it’s scheduled release date of March 2. It’s all within good reason, the 6-track project is a polished handful of piano-laden songs, and even boasts features from Wale and T-Pain. The Atlanta artist experiments with everything from trap sounds on songs like “This Time I’m Serious” and “It’s on the Way” to futuristic funk on “Rodeo” and “Back to Me.”
The Cash Money signee has been teasing his debut studio album 4275 since his rise to stardom, and has managed to sell out shows on his formula of clever, concise EPs. Though 4275 hasn’t been given an official date, it’s safe to assume that the 23-year-old singer will take his time smoothing it out to perfection. After a tweet from Chris Brown in January hinting at a collaboration with Que, and the recent string of singles from younger artists that Brown has been featured on, fans have speculated that the two might join forces on 4275 and quite possibly its lead single.
